Example Of Food Sensitivities In Pets
No matter how close you are with your dog or cat, chances are when it comes to food sensitivities you have a difficult time finding out the cause. That’s because these types of reactions can take hours or days to appear. They are called non-immunoglobulin E (IgE) mediated reactions.
Unlike allergies, non-IgE reactions do not involve the immune system. That’s a good thing because they are not as severe as allergies but they are tricky to decipher.
Examples of behavior causes by intolerances or sensitivities in pets:
- Upset stomach
- Paw biting or licking
- Bloating, stomach distention
- Sudden loss of hair, bald patches
- Joint pain
- Hot spots
- Constant scratching
